I have a friend from the Caribbean who told me a long time ago, that people from the islands season their meat the day before our at least several hours before they cook it. This allows the seasonings to get inside the meat.

Do you ship out meals? I just love it. What I love best is that you'll find several recipes for the same dish because each household had their own spin. Then you can pick out bit and pieces from each and make it your own. Your meal sounds awesome.sammysgrammyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02306018146687609494noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3859377925928604245.post-36921403955399098632014-02-03T20:14:37.200-08:002014-02-03T20:14:37.200-08:00You live too far away - I can't enjoy the deli...You live too far away - I can't enjoy the delicious fragrances that must be wafting out of your Italian kitchen! I cheat - I make my lasagna with no-boil pasta and my SIL still says it's the best he's ever tasted! I make my lasagna with ground veal, infused with red spices like cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg and a bay leaf. The aroma is out of this world! Love your salad for its colours and textures and tasty veggies! And, chocolate cake is a weakness of mine, and yours looks rich and satisfying, along with the ice cream!

PoppyPoppyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08980323586402386609noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3859377925928604245.post-22862639685869894272014-02-02T16:55:05.710-08:002014-02-02T16:55:05.710-08:00Gosh I feel so hungry reading your blog with all t...Gosh I feel so hungry reading your blog with all the delicious pictures!! I grew up with Italian food so I really appreciated this particular post!! And I just loved seeing the pepperoncini in your antipasto salad!! Nobody "gets that" unless they're Italian! My siblings & I would have competitions to see who could eat the most! :) Thank you for this wonderful recipe & stroll down memory lane, AnnMarie! :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3859377925928604245.post-40650745178180548872014-02-02T14:54:44.334-08:002014-02-02T14:54:44.334-08:00Yum what a great looking meal. Made it just last week though because we were craving it. We also have our youngest daughter and sil living with us for a few months. The salad is one of my favs. Not being a chocolate cake lover ( I know, crazy) I would replace it with something white. Other than that, a perfect meal. Hee-hee!
hugs,
JannHave a Daily Cup of Mrs. Olsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15446091501170762899noreply@blogger.com
