Lilacs

It's the little things of beauty that put a spring in your step on a warm, sunny Spring day.

I just had to stop and take a picture of this gorgeous row of lilac trees that I pass by almost every day.

It is lilac season in Upstate New York and this is by far the most spectacular array of gorgeous deep purple lilacs I have seen in my area.

No, this gorgeous hedge is not in the famous Highland Park where the Lilac Festival is held in Rochester, NY each May. It is in a small town on a side street off the main drag behind a dentist's office leading to a trailer park.

Can't you just smell their beautiful aroma?

Have a wonderful Spring day!
AnnMarie xoxo

P.S. I also have a spring in my step today for reaching 600 sales in my Etsy shop!!

  5. I love every color and scent of lilac. And they are so specific to our region. I missed them so much when I lived away form the area. So delighted to have them in my backyard again.

  6. Love the perfumed air when the lilac are in bloom. Mine are finished now, time to trim the bushes and get them ready for next year (will have to check online for proper stem cutting).

  10. Congratulations on the sales! There is something about the sweet smell of lilacs that brings back warm memories of my childhood. We have a few in our yard, my favorite are some late bloomers that I planted under a window, so they fill the house with their sweet perfume!

  11. I adore lilacs! For some reason my bush didn't do so well this year. Just a couple of little sprigs. I think maybe the Man of the House got a little over enthusiastic in his pruning last year. That hedge is just gorgeous!!!
