Are you thinking about Christmas yet?
My gardens still look like summer, and I won't decorate for Fall till October 1st, but yes, I can't help thinking about Christmas.
While I am out pickin' and thriftin' I see a lot of vintage Christmas items that I just can't resist. Although I am coveting a large box of vintage ornaments, which are still elusive to me, I am finding other goodies.
This Santa has to be the find of the season so far. He is so kitschy that I just had to have him.

Santa and the poinsettia are flocked. The holly and berries are plastic, as is the "stump" Santa is standing on. There is some fabric and yarn thrown in to complete the kitschy-ness! He is available if you can't resist!
I found this great blow Santa at an Antique Car Show/Flea market of all places! He was sitting amongst the greasy car parts and tools. I had to rescue him. Why was I at an antique car show? My sweet friend Darlene's husband had entered his car in it and when she mentioned flea market, I was there! I found some great stuff!

I have been looking for some vintage, felt Christmas stockings and these fit the bill. I just love the nostalgic look of them with all the elements that I think of for a 1950's Christmas.

How about a really different, fun tree stand? This is perfect for a faux red foil tree, or if you are adventurous, a real tree that you have to water constantly!

I have had these kitschy knitted ornaments since the 1980's. I got them at a local Christmas bazaar. They are just too cute for a nostalgic Christmas.

I love Fall and am so looking forward to picking pumpkins, decorating and walking in crunchy leaves. But Christmas is always in the back of my mind.....Christmas treasures to pick, that is!
Are you thinking about Christmas now?!
AnnMarie xoxo
I am linking up with these great Blog parties:
Yay for Christmas {{smiles}} Yes, I'm thinking of this lovely holiday. I have several items made and ready to be put on my Etsy shop, but I am not sure if it's too soon for some people so I am holding off..... I do love Christmas and your items have brought a smile to my face. Happy weekend, AnnMarie.
ReplyDeleteStephanie - I say put them up! There are always people planning ahead, and you'll have a leg up on everyone else!

I always love to plan for Christmas! ....all year long. The best time to find vintage Christmas items is when others don't want to think about it....from January to October. You found some nice treasures. Milena
ReplyDeleteAs a crafter and small business owner, I have to be thinking about Christmas already. Although it's hard to think that far ahead because I'm just so ready to be enjoying some fall right now! 😉

Yes, I've actually been thinking about Christmas....LOL I had to pack up all the decorations and went through the Christmas things to see what I might be able to sell...cuz, I have to make room for new stuff, right?! ;-) Love these vintage Christmas decorations! I've got a Santa that I finally passed down to my son. He is about 60 years old and Coke produced him for one of their marketing campaigns.
ReplyDeleteIt is way too early for fall decor, but Christmas?? It's the most wonderful time of the year...anytime of the year! Bring on the Santas!! :)
ReplyDeleteI have been thinking about Christmas a little. Mainly because I am planning to visit my daughter in Prague immediately after, if it works out. Cute finds! I remember these types of decorations growing up. Sweet memories!
ReplyDeleteCute! Santa thanks you for rescuing home from a life with greasy car parts. I haven't even thought about fall yet, so no Christmas thoughts running through my head yet.
ReplyDeleteDear AnnMarie, I was so glad to hear from you. The summer has flown by!! and left me in the dust!!
ReplyDeleteI really am glad to see from your posts that you enjoyed a nice time in Massachusetts and Happy Birthday to your son. What a nice time it looks like you spent with delicious food.
I am thinking of Christmas I must confess. I am looking forward to the decorating and the coziness of it all.
I love vintage and old. It just seems closer to the heart.
Keep well. xoxo Catherine
I'm trying not to think about Christmas just yet, too many birthdays before that, but it is not too far off. I love that top Santa you have, he reminds of ornaments from way back when.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day,
Diana
The socks are plain adorable! Love all your goodies.

I love the stockings and the Santa blow mold. I am so glad you rescued him.
ReplyDeleteGreat finds Ann Marie! I have one giant Santa blow mold and one table top one. I recently got another one in between from my Sister. I'm planning on grouping them out on the porch this Christmas. How tall is the one you found? He's super cool! Love the stockings and old tree stands are always fun! Vintage Christmas is the best! I will put the rest of my Fall décor out in Sept. because I change it out three times. Fall in Sept. Halloween in Oct. and then Thanksgiving in Nov. I figure I need to dust, so why not change it? lol!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
Great Christmas finds, AnnMarie! I'm with you and don't like to do fall decor until a littler later, but find if I don't get the Christmas goodies posted on Etsy way in advance then time gets away from me before the holidays! Have a wonderful week! Cecilia
ReplyDeleteI'm still in summer mode in my heart, but I do love vintage Christmas decorations. You found some great ones.
ReplyDeleteMary Alice
Love those Santas! Especially the bow mold. I'm so glad you saved him. I've just started thinking about Christmas and have been going through my vintage Christmas stuff to see what I can let go and list in my shop. It's hard to choose sometimes. Fall is my favourite season so I love doing a few projects for it. Guess I'll have to get busy.
ReplyDeleteLove the stockings!
ReplyDeleteGreat Christmas finds!!! I love the Santa (ceramic)! Christmas is always on the back of my mind, but it seems that I always wait 'til the last minute to get ready for it!!!
ReplyDeleteCute Christmas finds! I am trying not to think about Christmas yet. I definitely need to purge a few decorations, but it is so hard to part with them!
ReplyDeleteI can barely think about that fact that it's September, let alone the holidays! But they'll be here before we know it, I guess. Cute finds, AnnMarie!
ReplyDeleteGreat finds. Christmas will be here before you know it.
